Electrical Design Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:
-
Lead the design of full electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, telecom and security systems.
-
Perform design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls.

Prepare design and construction documents including plans and specifications.
-
Perform arc flash studies, load and voltage drop calculations under direction of the senior level engineers.

Assist to perform construction administration, submittal review, respond to Request for Information (RFI).
-
Perform on-site studies and surveys as needed.
Preferred Experience and Requirements:
-
2+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, including power distribution, lighting, fire protection and alarm systems.

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.

Ability to work independently designing electrical building systems from utility entrance to final branch circuiting.

Knowledge or experience with power distribution systems design a plus.
-
Experience surveying and documenting existing electrical systems in field.
-
Experience using Revit, SKM and AutoCAD software applications to design layouts, one-line diagrams and electrical panels.

Excellent written and oral communication skills required for client interaction and team member collaboration for engineering tasks and requirements.

FE/EIT certification or desire to obtain certification is preferred.

Occasional travel required.
