Electrical Design Engineer  
Qualifications 
  • US work authorization (Required)

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the design of full electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm, telecom and security systems.
  • Perform design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Prepare design and construction documents including plans and specifications.
  • Perform arc flash studies, load and voltage drop calculations under direction of the senior level engineers.
  • Assist to perform construction administration, submittal review, respond to Request for Information (RFI).
  • Perform on-site studies and surveys as needed.
 
Preferred Experience and Requirements: 
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, including power distribution, lighting, fire protection and alarm systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
  • Ability to work independently designing electrical building systems from utility entrance to final branch circuiting.
  • Knowledge or experience with power distribution systems design a plus.
  • Experience surveying and documenting existing electrical systems in field.
  • Experience using Revit, SKM and AutoCAD software applications to design layouts, one-line diagrams and electrical panels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required for client interaction and team member collaboration for engineering tasks and requirements.
  • FE/EIT certification or desire to obtain certification  is preferred.
  • Occasional travel required.
