Electrical engineer

Job Description

Under direction and guidance, your responsibilities will include:

Providing engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of project challenges
Providing electrical design support of Company’s design projects during construction, (such as addressing contractor RFIs, submittals, etc.), and providing technical reviews and comments on designs completed by others, as applicable
Providing conceptual, preliminary and detailed design deliverables, including but not limited to: drawings, technical specifications, opinions of probable construction costs, construction schedules, etc.
Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Preparation of thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
Continuous improvement of job-related, engineering technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
Development of effective oral and written communication skills
Maintaining accurate records and files
Supporting the company’s goals and representing the company positively and professionally

Candidate Specification

To be considered for the electrical engineer position, we welcome applications from candidates with the following criteria:

Successfully completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
PE licensure is preferred; however candidates who have previously passed the FE and are Engineers In Training (EIT’s) and are committed to pursuing licensure when legally able will also be given consideration
5-10 years of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering
Modelling software experience including REVIT, SKM or ETAP is preferred, but not required
A genuine interest in engineering design related to Electrical Engineering, preferably in support of water/wastewater infrastructure, vertical facilities, and transportation projects
Strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable working in a team environment and directing/managing the work completed by others, including subconsultant team members
Organized and a self-starter
Effective in both verbal and written communications
