Role description : Seeking an entry-level Geophysicist. This junior-level full-time position will be involved in various activities which to support our growing Munitions Response program, and environmental restoration projects. This person can be located anywhere in the U.S. The desired candidate will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Applicants should be solution oriented and have independent critical thinking skills to work as a productive member of high-performance teams. Successful applicants for this position must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and be fully vaccinated, or have a valid waiver, by date of hire.
Proof of vaccination is required . Role accountabilities : Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to :
• Working with project teams to ensure that required work is completed on time, on budget, and consistent with recognized standards of technical excellence.
• A combination of field and office related tasks that will require travel. • Perform munitions response geophysical surveys using EM61-MK2 and / or advanced electromagnetic induction sensors. Field assignments may run several months and may be in remote and / or rugged terrain.
• Office tasks will include geophysical data processing and technical writing to support work plans, memos, and reports.
• Health and safety focused. Able to comply and steward Arcadis and client H&S requirements.
• Exhibit independent thinking skills and able to work successfully with minimal daily supervision.
• Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders.
• Capable of working independently and in teams to efficiently complete assignments and requires minimal supervision in completion of daily tasks.
• Must be capable of pushing / pulling geophysical sensors in rugged terrain Offer exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term, successful professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
This will be a 100% field position for the first year and can be located anywhere in the U.S. Qualifications & Experience :
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related field. Preferred
Qualifications :
• MS in Geology, Geophysics, or related field
• 3-5 years of related experience
