Position Summary:
Are you an Engineer with a passion for manufacturing who enjoys searching for ways to enhance and optimize manufacturing operations? Our growing business is looking for a Process Engineer to work closely with Operations and Product Development in improving existing manufacturing processes, providing technical support, troubleshooting process issues, and determining innovative manufacturing solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for manufacturing operations, troubleshoot process issues, and determine innovative manufacturing solutions.
- Provide engineering support related to process modifications and optimization.
- Analyze production data to identify process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, process variation, cost, performance, safety, and preventive maintenance.
- Determine solutions and recommendations for process changes that support achievement of established operating goals.
- Gather and evaluate relevant data through effective interfacing with Production, QA, R&D, Management, and Maintenance personnel to prioritize necessary process improvements.
- Lead or participate in Lean Manufacturing and process improvement projects.
- Lead product qualifications for new equipment, new raw materials, alternate suppliers, and other design changes. Plan, coordinate, and monitor trials, document and analyze results, and implement necessary process changes.
- Implement product or process design changes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- 0-7 years related Process experience in manufacturing environment
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, and time management skills
This is an in-person job based in Yorkville, IL. Occasional hybrid remote work may be possible after sufficient training.
