Senior Manufacturing Supervisor

  • Collaborating with cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, production planning and plant engineering, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
  • Leading and continually developing self and others at multiple levels of the organization through supervision, providing recognition, policy administration, continuous coaching for improvement and participation in hiring processes.
  • Representing plant leadership team through driving initiatives across the plant, including but not limited to supervision coverage for alternative shifts, being on-call and serving as a primary plant management representative.
Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to the start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Three (3) years previous supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing Manufacturing Supervisors as well as peers and ability to influence higher levels of the organization.
  • Experience leading and coaching multiple levels of tier management process; leading and coaching improvement projects (kaizens) and Six Sigma Green Belt Projects, have Six Sigma Green Belt certification and act as Six Sigma project Sponsor.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 
  • Master’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Five (5) years previous supervisory and/or management experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing Manufacturing Supervisors as well as peers and ability to influence higher levels of the organization.
  • Experience being a Manager/Supervisor in a union environment. Have participated in negotiations, grievance settlements and arbitrations. (optional)
