Senior Scientist, Neurodegenerative Research

About This Role 
The successful candidate will be a key member of our Alzheimer’s disease genetic targets group and will have primary responsibility for existing and new Apo E programs.  The appointee will have a track record of accomplishment and have excellent collaboration skills. 
 What You’ll Do 
  • Lead research on existing and new Apo E programs
  • Mentor and manage 2-3 direct reports
  • Contribute to cross-functional program teams
  • Provide rigorous, objective information and recommendations to support project decisions
  • Actively contribute to collaborations with academic and industry partners
  • Involve yourself in the development and smooth running of the Neurodegeneration Research Unit
  • Assess external opportunities for in-licensing and/or partnerships.
Who You Are  
The ideal candidate will be an Apo E subject matter expert, a team player, and have a deep commitment to drug discovery.  
Required Skills 
  • PhD in biochemistry/physiology or related discipline and a record of high impact publications
  • Broad knowledge of Apo E biology and the role of Apo E in Alzheimer’s disease
  • Deep commitment to rigorous science
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and to lead a small team
  • Experienced in translational research
  •  Agile and able to prioritize programs, time, and allocation of resources
Preferred Skills 
  • Familiarity with drug discovery in a matrix organization
