Senior Staff Geophysicist
The successful Geophysicist will have a passion for the outdoors, ability to work in different climates, eager & willingness to learn and grow in the industry. This position requires 90% field work / 10% office.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, previous field work preferred.
• Communicate clearly and daily with direct supervisor and project manager regarding fieldwork including bringing on-site issues to the project manager’s attention
• Prepare daily report for fieldwork
• Be attentive to detail
• Be willing to continually learn new skills/software
• Be organized
Technical Requirements:
• Must have strong communication skills as well as writing skills
• Must be able to read plans/maps and create maps
• Previous experience using ground penetrating radar (GPR) preferred.
Other miscellaneous qualities:
• Must be willing to work out of town (travel)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to work on military bases
• Must be able to check a vehicle for safety and change a spare tire
• Ability to get proper certifications within 5 years
• Must be able and willing to work some weekends and overtime
• Must be able to carry at least 50 lbs.
• Previous experience working in desert locations including summertime field season a plus
