Sr Streaming Media Operator
Seeking a Senior Streaming Media Operator who will be an exceptional addition to our Broadcast Operations Center. In this role you will support company Live TV operations by monitoring live video signals, driving incident management for channel issues, managing programming rights and schedules via proprietary tools, performing ‘eyes-on-glass’ monitoring for Key Events, assisting with signal acquisition and maintenance with content partners, and updating and maintaining real-time or just-in-time changes for event programming. You will also work closely alongside the Network Operations Center in monitoring the overall health of the Live TV service. The right person for this role is well-organized, attentive, self-motivated, and an excellent communicator and multi-tasker; they are also comfortable raising incidents to management, have broad knowledge of sports programming, and demonstrate a high computer/technical competency. Given the nature of live event schedules, you will be required to work nights and/or weekends. Responsibilities:
  • Monitor live video streams and program schedules, and report on overall health of signal delivery
  • Drive incident management for live channels – this entails filing tickets and rallying internal and external support resources to resolve issues such as loss / degradation of video signal, errors in program schedule or rights, etc., and keeping the management chain informed of incident status
  • Monitor multiple live events concurrently, such as sports, award shows, etc. and confirm, or manually execute, program extensions as necessary
  • Ensure content blackouts compliance against contractual obligations and partner communications, via audits and/or manual implementation – update, verify, validate, and send blackout notifications to technical and programming contacts
  • Serve as technical support point of contact for broadcast related blackouts, extensions, rights management, and general questions during live events
  • Assist with maintaining the highest quality content metadata via content tagging, metadata corrections, etc.
  • Maintain Broadcast Operations mail account inbox, chat rooms, phone bridges, and other forms of communications: answer, file, forward information as necessary
  • Assist Operations staff in generating channel performance reporting for leadership, partners and customer support staff
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing for all tools and workflow upgrades as related to the Broadcast Operations Center
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, filing, spreadsheet management, data entry, and other project-specific administrative activities as directed
Basic Qualifications:
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong sports programming familiarity to help facilitate quick, informed decisions about sports content management (blackouts, extensions, metadata, etc.)
  • Strong multitasking ability, as you’ll be managing multiple projects across multiple teams
  • Self-motivated – able to take ownership for a task and run with it with little to no oversight – this is especially important for this shift
  • Excellent technical acumen and computer skills, especially Google Docs and MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with support ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Zendesk. etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Incident Management experience
  • Previous experience working in a Broadcast or Network Operations Center environment
  • Experience in a Technical Support role
  • Cable operations or related industry knowledge
